Portrait of Ronald C. Estoque Distinguished Associate Professor · Lab Head Ronald C. Estoque is a land-system and sustainability scientist whose work examines human–environment interactions through geospatial analysis. His research connects land-use and forest-cover change with ecosystem services, biodiversity, climate risk, resilience, and quality of life.

Career and affiliations

At Tohoku University, he leads the Land System Sustainability Lab in the Graduate School of Environmental Studies. He is also a Senior Researcher at the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute (FFPRI). He received his PhD from the University of Tsukuba.
