Prospective master’s & PhD students
Students join through the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Tohoku University. Admission is by entrance examination, and programmes are available to both domestic and international applicants. What we look for. Curiosity about land use and environmental change, and a willingness to learn quantitative methods. Prior experience with GIS, remote sensing, statistics, or programming (especially Python or R) is an advantage, but motivation and a clear research interest matter more — we expect to teach methods. Possible topics. Anything within our three research themes, including forest and land-use change, urban heat and green space, climate risk and adaptation, and geospatial AI. We are also open to a topic you bring, if it fits the lab’s direction.Postdoctoral researchers
