    **Distinguished Associate Professor · Lab Head**

    Land system science, sustainability science, and human–environment interactions. Research on
    forest transition, land-use displacement, ecosystem services, biodiversity, and climate risk.
    PhD, University of Tsukuba. He is also Senior Researcher at the Forestry and Forest Products
    Research Institute (FFPRI).

    **Specially Appointed Assistant Professor**

    Remote sensing, geospatial data science, and AI/deep learning applied to land-use and land-cover
    change, urban environments, and climate adaptation. Joined the lab in July 2026. Previously a
    Research Associate at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) and a JSPS
    Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tsukuba. PhD, Tokyo Institute of Technology.
